2025 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

The LHMP development process began in March 2024 and concluded with a fully adopted Plan by April 2025. The Plan addresses an updated list of natural hazards and assesses the likely impacts those hazards pose to people and assets of the HVLCSD service area.  Additionally, the Plan contains an updated mitigation strategy with goals, actions, and projects designed to reduce natural hazard risk and future disaster losses.

Having an active Local Hazard Mitigation Plan secures the District's eligibility for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funds. These funds may be used for increasing the level of protection provided to critical infrastructure.
